Gravestones with Russian letters, Irish and Polish names and orthodoxies crosses full the old and dessert cemeteries. A feeling of longing, melancholy and memory floats above the graves, touched by the distant sound of the orthodox church bells from the top of the hill. Small columns of smoke come out of the ground in a threatening dance as a constant reminder …

With the generous support of the faculty union APSCUF, and the tremendous help of Residence Life, I am very happy to announce that on November 4th–VOTING DAY–a contest will be held for each of the dorms and all three BU apartment buildings to compete for the title of which dorm/apartment can turn out the highest percentage of voters.
When you go to cast your ballot, look for posters in Multi-Purpose Room B (Kehr Union’s voting location) titled with the name of your dorm/Apartment. When you receive your “I voted” sticker don’t …

For some Bloomsburg University students Andruss Library is a frightening place. Understandably so. Four floors of thick tomes and dusty dictionaries is enough to give anyone the shivers. Yellowing newspapers and stacks of unwatched foreign films further add to the horror. Come on a weekend or Thursday night and the building is deathly quiet. Aesthetics aside, however, a more logical fear lies within the library’s massive walls; the legend of the Andruss Apparition.
Some say its the tortured spirit of a past BU student. Some say its the restless ghost of scorned librarian. Still …

The combat is this game’s most innovative feature. While the monsters are undead, the classic “shoot them in the head” method will not work here. In order to dispatch these monsters, you must strategically dismember them. This adds a sense of complexity to the game as the player must figure out witch limbs to remove in order to kill a particular creature.

Take a look at how the season has progressed for the BU Cross Country team. The slideshow below consists of photos from the Husky, Iona and Penn State Invitationals, and are all provided by a team parent, Cathy Moyer.
The teams are scheduled to compete this Saturday in the PSAC Championships at Lock Haven University. After a fifth-place finish for the men and a first-place finish for the women in 2007, the two teams hope to follow up with two more impressive performances this year. To do so they will need …

With the end of the championship drought hanging in the balance, the city of Philadelphia is left covered in a blanket of snow and doubt. Opened in 1871, the Old Jail in Jim Thorpe still looms over the town today, as if not wanting to be forgotten. Entering through its large wooden doors offers a journey to the past, a view of history many people cannot get enough of. As for me, I just wanted to get out.
Within the jail lays a little more than just seventy-two rooms that once held murderers, rapists, and the accused innocent. Hidden beneath its deteriorating structure lay secrets and strange happenings, all without an answer. With so many deaths, …

With more and more people joining social networks like Facebook and Myspace everyday, we are seeing a rise in one of the worst social offenses a person can commit. Creeping. Before the usage of such sites became prevalent, creeping was restricted to things such as hiding in bushes, peering in windows, and eavesdropping, but since these sites have become increasingly popular, a drastic rise in creeping has been noted. Creeping now includes (but is not limited to) Facebook stalking, which is when the individual doing the creeping (the creeper) be-friends …

Watching humans, and the way we act towards one another has instilled in me a great sort of fear that we have towards ourselves. The human mentality is a scary and unjust thing. Many of you would say that I am wrong and that we are creatures of reason who are intelligent and know how to work out our problems. In some cases you would be right, but most of the time this is not the case. We are animals, and we act as such, plain and simple. …
