“No Place for Hate” seminar to be held

An overview of Pennsylvania’s civil rights law, the state’s changing demographics, hate crimes, supremacist group trends and positive practices will be presented as a “No Place for Hate” event Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. in the Bloomsburg Area YMCA, 30 E. Seventh St.

Traveling around to six countries in three weeks could prove to be a difficult task, but in my case it was nothing but an experience of a lifetime. First stop in Germany, then onto Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, France, and finally England. The Eiffel Tower, Buckingham Palace, Royal Crowned Jewels, Anne Frank House & the Peace Palace were just a few of the main stops we took along the way.

Brian Sims, a BU alumnus ‘01 and former Husky football player, spoke about his experience with ‘coming-out’ to his team at the Second Annual Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference on Gay Straight Alliance (GSA) Leadership at the keynote speech on Saturday, Oct. 3, in the Kehr Union Ballroom.
