Bloomsburg University’s Dance Ensemble will take center stage in the Kehr Union Ballroom on Sunday, November 15 at 7 p.m. Every spring the dance ensemble puts on its dancing shoes and showcases their talents at the Haas Center. So what makes November 15 so special?

The Animal Resource Center (ARC) of Bloomsburg, Pa. will be speaking on location at their new facilities, concerning their current transition and in accordance, the urgency of pet adoption and fostering. The ARC will be speaking to local community members about their new building and the need for and the benefits of adopting or fostering a lifelong friend.

It’s that time again! Toys for Tots is coming to the university for another year of collecting toys and delivering them to less fortunate children in the five county area. Boxes were put out October 16th in the academic buildings and dorms then downtown on November 18rd.

This year on Friday, October 30, around midnight, men and women will crowd the sidewalk in front of The Campus Theatre in Lewisburg, Pa. Some of the women will be dressed up in questionable attire, and some of the men will look like they came wearing their girlfriend’s clothes.

Columbia-Montour Common Pleas Judge Thomas James will moderate a panel discussion exploring the cost of operating the courts and the financial effects of court actions. “The Cost of Justice Forum” will be held Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 2 p.m. in Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s Carver Hall, Kenneth S. Gross Auditorium.

BU Professor Jeanette Keith will speak on “Mosquitoes, Environments and the Social Construction of Yellow Fever” Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. in the BU’s Andruss Library, Schweiker Room. The lecture is free and open to the public.

An overview of Pennsylvania’s civil rights law, the state’s changing demographics, hate crimes, supremacist group trends and positive practices will be presented as a “No Place for Hate” event Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. in the Bloomsburg Area YMCA, 30 E. Seventh St.

Jugglers, acrobats, comics and aerialists who perform amazing feats of balance will be featured in Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s next Celebrity Artist Series’ program, Cirque Le Masque, during Parents Weekend Saturday, Oct. 24, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., in the newly renovated Haas Center for the Arts.

Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s homecoming weekend celebration will kick off Saturday, Oct. 17, with the homecoming parade and activities throughout the day.

The Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania Institute for Culture and Society Special Focus lecture series will feature “Green Works: Environmental Concerns and Creative/Scholarly Projects in Literature and the Visual.” A panel of BU professors will speak Thursday Oct. 8, at 7 p.m in the Andruss Library’s Schweiker Room.

For just $5 admission, one can enjoy countless rides and games, feast on delicious foods, and watch live entertainment. The Bloomsburg Fair started in 1855, and was a rather small piece of land with few exhibits. To this day, the fair’s popularity, shops, and attractions have tremendously increased.

Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania’s art and art history department, in partnership with Art21 Inc., presents a sneak preview of the fifth season of “Art:21 – Art in the 21st Century,” on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 4:30 p.m.

Quest will hold a High Ropes Day on upper campus Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free and open to the community.
