BU Student Charged with Rape; Man had Prior History of Crimes Against Young Girls

A mentally disabled Bloomsburg University student was charged with raping a woman at knifepoint on Wednesday in Bloomsburg. The student has had a past history of assaulting young girls according to a Press Enterprise report.

According to police reports on Thursday a woman in her 20’s told police that the suspect Eric Martz 20, of Bloomsburg had stopped by her West Main Street residence sometime around noon. She stated that Martz has asked her if she wanted to hangout and watch a movie. The woman agreed and the two walked to his residence. She stated that after arriving at the house the two went to his bedroom where he told her he had movies and a television.
